Jetpack Pals
Privacy Policy
Effective October 16, 2026
The short version
- Anyone can play as a guest without giving us a name, email address or any other personal information.
- If you make an account, we keep your email address and your game progress so your pilots are there next time.
- We don't sell personal information, and we don't show ads.
- Google Analytics measures public website visits by default. You can turn analytics off in Privacy choices, and we respect Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track. First-party and Vercel analytics stay off unless you say yes.
- Chat isn't saved. Voice isn't recorded. Flight clips never leave your device unless you download or share them.
- Parents can ask us to see or delete their child's information at any time: jetpackpals@gmail.com.
Who we are
Jetpack Pals is a multiplayer jetpack game played in the browser at jetpackpals.com and in our iPhone and Android apps. This policy covers the game, the apps and this website. If you have a question, or want to use any of the choices below, email jetpackpals@gmail.com.
Kids and families
Jetpack Pals is made for kids and the grown-ups who play with them, so we collect as little as we can.
- Guests can fly, play every activity and join friends' flights without an account. A guest's progress is saved on their own device, not by us.
- Accounts need an email address. For a player under 13, a parent or guardian should create the account and use their own email address.
- Purchases in the iPhone and Android apps sit behind a grown-up check. Apple's and Google Play's own purchase approval and parental controls still apply.
- Parents can ask to review, correct or delete their child's information, or to stop further collection, by emailing jetpackpals@gmail.com. If we learn we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without a parent's permission, we will delete it.
What we collect, and why
When you visit this website
- Website analytics. Google Analytics loads on our public home, play and devlog pages unless you have turned analytics off or your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track. When you also choose to allow first-party analytics, we record which pages you visit, how long you're active, how the page performed, how you found us (a campaign tag or the website that linked you), and your general device type, browser, operating system and country. We use a random ID kept in your browser for 90 days. We don't store your IP address or anything you type. With your permission, eligible pages also load Vercel Web Analytics.
- Launch updates, only if you sign up. If you join the email list, we keep your email address and where you signed up, to send Jetpack Pals news. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
When you play as a guest
- Your pilots, settings and progress are saved in your browser or on your device.
- To fly with other people, the game connects to our servers and to Unity's multiplayer service, which gives your device a random, anonymous ID. Other players see your pilot's name and look, where you're flying, and anything you say in chat.
When you make an account
- Your email address and password, used to sign in. Passwords are handled by our sign-in provider and are never visible to us.
- Your game save: your pilots' names and looks, progress, coins, and the items you own, so you can pick up where you left off on any device.
- Friends: friend requests, who you're friends with and who you've blocked.
- Who's online: while you play, your pilot's name, look and current flight, so your friends can see you're online.
Talking with other players
- Chat messages are sent to players nearby as you type them. We don't save them.
- Voice is off until a signed-in player turns it on, and it's push-to-talk. Audio is sent live to nearby players through our voice provider and isn't recorded.
- Reports. If a player reports someone, we keep who reported whom, when, and the last line of chat the reported player said (at most 200 characters), so we can look into it. Players can also mute and block anyone.
Memberships and purchases
- On the website, payments are handled by Stripe. We never see your card number. We keep your plan, whether it's active, when it renews, which pilot it's for, and Stripe's customer and subscription IDs.
- In the iPhone app, payments are handled by Apple. We receive Apple's record of the purchase (the product, transaction IDs, when it renews or ends, and any refund) and a random code that links it to the pilot it was bought for. We never see your Apple payment details.
- In the Android app, payments are handled by Google Play. We receive the purchase token, product and plan, order information, subscription status, renewal or expiry dates, and cancellation or refund information. A random code links the purchase to the account and saved pilot it was bought for. We use this information to verify and restore membership access and keep it up to date. We never see your Google Play payment details.
Flight clips
When you record a clip in the browser game, it stays in that browser tab. It isn't uploaded to us. It's only kept if you download it or share it yourself.
Information every online service handles
Our servers and providers see your IP address and basic browser or device information when you connect, because they need it to send you the game and keep it working. We use a scrambled, short-lived form of your IP address to stop spam sign-ups, and we don't keep your IP address in our analytics.
What we don't do
- We don't sell or rent personal information, or share it for advertising.
- We don't show ads, in the game or on this website.
- We don't record voice or keep chat logs.
- We don't ask players for their real name, age, address, phone number or photo.
Companies that help us run Jetpack Pals
These providers process information for us, only to provide their service:
- Supabase - accounts, sign-in, game saves, friends and memberships
- Vercel - hosting this website and the browser game; optional web analytics
- Amazon Web Services - the server that runs the shared Angel City sky
- Unity - multiplayer connections for private and public flights. Its services process anonymous player identifiers, approximate location based on the connection, multiplayer activity and connection performance information to provide and improve multiplayer service.
- LiveKit - live voice between nearby players
- Stripe - website payments
- Apple - the iPhone app, TestFlight and in-app purchases
- Google Play and Google Cloud - Android app distribution, in-app purchases, purchase verification and subscription notifications
- Google Analytics - public website analytics, with opt-out through Privacy choices
We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect players' safety.
How long we keep it
- First-party website analytics: deleted after 90 days. Google and Vercel manage their analytics data separately.
- Email list: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.
- Accounts, game saves, friends and memberships: for as long as the account exists, and deleted when you ask us to delete the account. Records of purchases may be kept longer where tax or accounting law requires it.
- Reports: for as long as we need them to keep players safe.
Your choices
- Analytics: use the Privacy choices button at the bottom of the home page to change your answer at any time. If your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track, analytics stay off.
- Emails: use the unsubscribe link in any email.
- Your information: email jetpackpals@gmail.com to see, correct or delete what we have about you or your child, or to delete an account. We'll check that the request comes from the account's owner or a parent before we act on it.
- Memberships: cancel an iPhone membership in your Apple Account settings, an Android membership in Google Play under Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions, and a website membership from your membership page. Uninstalling the app does not cancel a subscription.
Keeping it safe
Information travels over encrypted connections. Account data is protected so that each player can reach only their own save. Only a small number of people who run Jetpack Pals can see reports or account records, and only to support players and keep them safe. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and collect as little as we can.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle information, we'll update this page and its date. If a change affects information we already have about children, we'll ask parents first.
