Agreeing to these terms

These terms cover the Jetpack Pals game in the browser at jetpackpals.com, our iPhone app, and this website. By playing or using them, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use Jetpack Pals.

If you're a parent or guardian letting a child play, you agree to these terms for them and are responsible for how they use Jetpack Pals, including any purchases.

Who can play

• Guests can play without an account. A guest's progress is saved on their own device.
• Accounts need an email address. For a player under 13, a parent or guardian should create the account with their own email address and stay involved in how it's used.
• Keep your password to yourself. You're responsible for what happens on your account. If you think someone else is using it, email us.

Playing fair and being kind

Angel City is shared with other players, many of them kids. When you name a pilot, chat, talk on voice or play with others, you agree not to:

• bully, threaten, harass or make fun of anyone;
• use rude, hateful, sexual or scary words, names or behavior;
• share personal information, yours or anyone else's, such as a real name, address, school, phone number, social media or photos;
• pretend to be someone else, including Jetpack Pals staff;
• cheat, use bots, exploit bugs, or interfere with the game, its servers or other players;
• try to get into someone else's account, or into parts of our systems you aren't meant to reach;
• sell, trade or buy accounts, pilots, coins or items for money.

Every player can mute, block and report others. We look at reports and may mute, remove or ban players, change pilot names, or close accounts that break these rules, sometimes without warning. If you see something that worries you, report it in the game or email jetpackpals@gmail.com.

Coins, items and apartments

Coins are earned by playing and spent in the game, for example in Angel City Mall or on apartments. Coins, items, apartments and other things in the game are a license to use them in Jetpack Pals, not property you own. They have no cash value, can't be exchanged for money, and can't be transferred outside the game. We may change or rebalance them as the game grows.

Memberships

• What it is. A membership belongs to one pilot and unlocks member benefits for that pilot, such as wearing clothes from the mall, customizing jetpacks, moving into apartments and hosting private flights. It can't be moved to another pilot or account. Your other pilots stay free to play.
• Plans. Memberships are offered monthly, every six months or yearly. The price is shown before you buy, in your currency, and may include tax.
• Automatic renewal. A membership renews automatically at the end of each period, at the same length and the then-current price, until it's canceled. Cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends to avoid the next charge.
• Canceling. In the iPhone app, manage or cancel your membership in your Apple Account's Subscriptions settings. On the website, cancel renewal from the membership screen in the game. Benefits continue until the end of the period you've paid for.
• When a membership ends, your items, apartments and layouts stay saved, but member-only benefits pause until the pilot is a member again.
• Refunds. Purchases made in the iPhone app are handled by Apple, under Apple's refund rules; you can ask Apple for a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com. For website purchases, email us and we'll help. Nothing in these terms takes away refund rights the law gives you.
• Price changes. If a plan's price changes, we'll tell you before it applies to your next renewal, and you can cancel before then.

If you got the app from the App Store

The iPhone app is also licensed under Apple's Standard License Agreement. These terms are between you and Jetpack Pals, not Apple. Apple isn't responsible for the app, its content, support or maintenance, or any claims about it. Apple and its subsidiaries may enforce these terms as a third party.

Our game, and what you share

Jetpack Pals, its characters, art, music, code and name belong to us or the people who license them to us. You may play the game and share clips and screenshots of your own play, but you may not copy, sell or reuse the game itself. The city is drawn from real map data (map data © OpenStreetMap contributors), but every business in it is made up.

You keep ownership of what you create, such as pilot names and chat. You let us use it to run the game, for example showing your pilot's name to other players, and to keep players safe.

Changes, outages and ending your account

• Jetpack Pals is still growing. We may add, change or remove features, activities and items, and the game may sometimes be unavailable while we work on it.
• You can stop playing at any time and ask us to delete your account by emailing jetpackpals@gmail.com. Deleting an account doesn't cancel an App Store membership; cancel that in your Apple Account first.
• We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts other players at risk.
• If we ever shut down Jetpack Pals, we'll give notice in the game and on this website first.

The legal part

We work hard to keep Jetpack Pals fun and safe, but it is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we don't promise it will always work, be free of errors, or keep any particular feature, and we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for more than you paid us in the twelve months before a claim. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, except where the law where you live says otherwise. If a part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we'll update this page and its date. If a change matters, we'll let players know in the game first. Continuing to play after a change means you accept the new terms.
